What does an Academic Coach do for your students?
- Teach effective and proven learning strategies.
- Help to develop a more organized approach to schoolwork.
- Help with positive motivation.
- Show how to organize their notebooks and folders, create color-coded systems for organization, and use index cards to prepare for tests.
- Share tips and strategies about staying focused and taking tests more effectively.
- Create a plan and a schedule to stay on top of homework and long-term projects.
All our tutors provide academic coaching related to the subject for which they are working with the student. However, some students will benefit from using an academic coach to provide overall guidance and strategies for success.
- Students who have a good understanding of materials but lack the motivation, organization, or strategies to apply those skills.
- Students who need help to stay organized such as children with ADHD.
- Athletes with positive sports experiences often work best with a coach.
- Grade-schoolers who need to learn good study habits.
- Older students who need help prioritizing, staying on task, or even prepping for ACT/SAT tests.
